Why work with me?
Choosing your coach is a hugely personal decision.
I prioritise creating an open, non-judgemental space where you feel able to talk about whatever is on your mind.
As for my experience, here is some information about my background:
I’m an accredited Practitioner Coach with the International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring
The International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring (IAPC&M) is an accrediting body.
Being accredited as a Practitioner Coach means that you can be assured that I’ve completed over 60 hours of coaching practice, and over 400 hours of training and study about coaching.
I am also signed up to the IAPC&M Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics, which gives you assurance that I am practising safely, effectively and lawfully.
It’s not compulsory to be accredited in order to practise as a coach, but in an industry where anyone can hop onto social media and call themselves a coach, accreditation provides a level of reassurance to you as a client that this coach is operating to the professional standard that you deserve.
Whoever you decide to choose as your coach (even if it’s not me) - please do take the time to research them and ask questions to ensure they have the appropriate training, accreditation, and / or experience necessary to coach effectively.
My professional background is in change and transformation
I run complex change and transformation programmes for a living.
In other words, I understand change and continuous improvement, and I have the skills and experience required to support individuals and organisations create positive changes (and make them stick!)
Although our coaching sessions will always run according to your agenda, if it’s helpful, I can also use my experience to suggest tools / techniques which might support you to define and achieve your goals.
Social work and coaching are two very different things, so don’t worry - you’re not signing up to a social work programme!
But this does mean that I’m experienced in working in a compassionate and non-judgemental way, to support people to make changes to their lives - often in very difficult situations.
